I'd recommend a round pen for a horse that's harder to control. It's his mind you need to control more than his mouth. Changing the bit is only a temporary fix. Get John Lyon's book on Round Pen Reasoning, and get that horse's attention. With that aside, you typically want the least bit you can get away with. Good luck. Joe
