Award Titles:

Champion:

Awarded to horses accumulating 100 or more points in a Category.

Champion of Merit:

Awarded to horses accumulating 3 Championships in a Division.

Premier Champion:

Awarded to horses accumulating Championships of Merit in at least 3 Divisions.  One of these Divisions must be the Travel Horse Division (see Additional Requirements).  In addition, one of these Categories must be a Road Gait Championship.

Annual High Point & Reserve High Point:

Awarded to 2 geldings, 2 mares and 2 stallions who accumulates the most points during the year.  Any category or combination of categories.  (copies of award program forms must be turned in before January 31, of the following year, for each year the horse is competing).  At least one owner of the horse for that year must be a member of NASHA.

 

Sire of Distinction:

Awarded to stallions who have sired 15 or more Champions.

Dam of Distinction:

Awarded to mares who have produced 3 or more Champions.

Challenge Award:

Awarded to horses earning 100 or more points in 3 or more Categories during the year.  (copies of award program forms must be turned in at the end of the year for each year the horse is competing).

If your horse competed in events before being registered with NASHA and entered in the award program you may acquire points from those events with properly filled award forms.

How to figure Award points:

One point is awarded for each horse defeated in a class or event.  The first 5 placings are eligible.

 

Exceptions:

Organized Trail or Harness rides:

One point for every hour on the ride.

Parades, Demos or Drill Teams:

10 points are awarded for every event provided the horse is promoted as a registered Single-Footing Horse.  (A horse would not receive points for riding with a group that was connected with any other breed association).

Endurance or Competitive Trail:

One point is awarded for every horse that places below your horse and completes the event in your division.  This is not limited to the first five placings.

Geldings:

Accumulating points in Model, Aged Model or Aged Road Gait classes may apply these points to the Show Horse Division.

Open & Breed (other than NASHA) Horse Shows or Classes:

Points can be earned for any Category offered by NASHA in these events except Road Gait (2 or 3 gait) or Park Gait (2 gait) classes.  Road Gait (2 or 3 gait) and Park Gait (2 gait) classes must be judged by a NASHA approved judge for points to count.  Points accumulated in Side-Saddle, Harness, Carriage, Costume and Equitation at other events are accepted and referred to as "Open Show Points" and satility, natural ability, and style while showing off both the Road and Park gaits.

  1. Road Gait - 2 or 3 gait.
  2. Park Gait - 2 gait.
  3. Side-Saddle Road Gait - 2 gait.
  4. Side-Saddle Park Gait - 2 gait.
  5. Equitation Road Gait - 2 or 3 gait.
  6. Equitation Park Gait - 2 gait.
  7. Harness Road Gait
  8. Harness Park Gait
  9. Carriage Road Gait - 2 or more horses.
    classes will be divided by the number or horses in harness.
  10. Carriage Park Gait - 2 or more horses.
    classes will be divided by the number of horses in harness.
  11. Costume Road Gait - 2 gait.
  12. Costume Park Gait - 2 gait.
